Willamette Apprentice Ballet is collaborating with the Corvallis Community Band on a Children’s Concert for local 4th graders! The Children’s Concert will be Tuesday, October 23rd @ 12:30pm. This particular performance is by invitation-only, for local elementary school students and their teachers/chaperones; the program features music and dance pieces related to the Oregon Trail and the Solar System.
Willamette Apprentice Ballet dancers from the Int/Adv Character Dance class of Corvallis Academy of Ballet will be performing a piece called Hootenanny, a fusion of traditional American square dancing steps and formations + classical ballet; they will be wearing beautiful, historically-accurate dresses that were designed and constructed by Mariann & Erica Jones. Students from the Beg/Int Character Dance class of CAB will be performing Teddy Bear Picnic, dancing with their favorite teddy bears and other stuffed animals.
We look forward to performing for all of those 4th graders in October!
